For the last few days, but I can't. It has the least stable online of any game I've played in the last decade. Full of performance issues and is BARELY better than GT5 even though they had 3 years to get their shit together. It's not all that bad, when it works. Which is barely ever.
Forza 4 is so much better it's not even funny. I havent had chance to try forza 5 though.

I used to be the biggest GT fanboy. That game actually got me into forum posting way back in 2002. Unfortunately, it just hasn't kept up with the times. For so many reasons, its a effing terrible game. The series has been going backwards in quality and content and that is unacceptable in this age where we have so many better options.
Roll on Project Cars.

You don't need anything fancy. The graphics are a bit last decade if you know what I mean, but the physics are pretty great, and the online competition is great since you don't get that kid who's allergic to the brakes taking out half of the field in T1 like you do in GT. The wheel and pedals you use will be more important than the computer you use.

I keep telling my wife I am going to build her a desktop computer or Christmas or her birthday... really I just want a fast computer so I can finally make the jump to iRacing. Have been playing GT for years.... I just don't know if they will ever make the game what it deserves to be... sigh

I just wanted a decent sim and dont have a PC or Xbox so I didnt have a lot of choice. I'm looking forward to project cars too at the moment. GT4 was actually pretty advanced for it's day, GT6 is so far behind the times it's ridiculous, such a waste of money.

The free PS plus version got delayed :(. I wanted to play that first to decide if I wanted to pay for the full version or not.

Yeah. That and having to pay for additional tracks and cars was the turn-off for me for a long time, but it's totally worth what they're charging. They do a good job.

I've owned every single GT game. GT6 is my least favorite. I will say that with the exception of GT2 and GT4, each successive iteration of Gran Turismo has been my least favorite at the time that it dropped. I just never backtracked upon playing a new version.
I've not tried any Forza games, because I haven't been interested in buying an XBox.
Friends of mine with XBoxes have tried to talk me into switching over. I was close with the original XBox due to the original SW: KOTOR...but I've become comfy with the PS controller, and I don't really want to learn a new format. The look of the PS4 controller doesn't exactly excite me...but I haven't tried it yet either. If I end up not liking it, maybe this will be the time I switch.

I love my PS3 PS4 and Vita and could never switch to Xbox. That's mainly because besides GT vs Forza playstation has the best exclusives for me. Plus the Xbox One controller is TERRIBLE for anyone with man sized hands.

GT4 was the best of the series. Maybe tied with GT2. Polyphony Digital thrived on the PS2 but could not for the life of them get it right for the PS3. Citing difficult hardware to program for, and whatnot. Its BS.

I used to be a HUGE GT fanboy. I played GT1 in HS and spent so much time on GT2. Gt3 and Gt4 were good and I loved it. GT5 really broke my faith with PD and GT they promised monthly DLCs and boom nothing way to fast A spec and horrid car count. I didn't bother with GT6 since it seems like it was GT5.5. PD has really lost its way and honestly needs fresh young people on staff from Europe and American to help break out of the JDM centric mold that GT has fallen in.

I had both a PS3 and Xbox 360 and the controller layouts are pretty much exactly the same aside from names and honestly you can switch between the two without even thinking about it. I eventually sold the PS3 because I realized all the Xbox versions of games just seemed to be more polished and fun. A couple games that I played on both were just not as smooth or fluid on the PS3. Also I liked Forza so much more than GT, although 4 was about disappointing with how good 3 was. I mostly play F1 2013 now because it's so much fun. I also enjoyed the triggers of the Xbox rather than the bumper buttons of the PS3. They just give more feel and control, which is important when modulating throttle and brake pressure in racing games

You should try the F1 series. I have F1 2012 (didn't see any reason to buy a whole 60$ for 2013) and I still play it all the time, way more than forza. You can make it easy or challenging, and the AI are just so much more realistic than GT or Forza. Plus you can have rules on which means you can't just ram everyone because A: your car will take severe damage needing a pit stop and B: you'll be penalized with either a drive-through penalty, time penalty, or a possible black flag. You can buy a pre-owned copy of F1 2012 for cheap so I would suggest trying that out

Oh and they also have real qualifying if you want, which can get in depth quickly, plus you can make the races be as long as real life or just a fraction of the distance. You also get to help your team choose development paths for the car, and then test the parts in the practice sessions before the race. Overall it's just an awesome game that can be fun or serious

I actually have F1 2012 too, I liked single player and played a few seasons but I hated the online which is what gives it longevity. Too many matches are filled with idiots who ram you off the track over and over.

You were right to avoid it, it is really similar to gt5. I got into the serious at GT3 and 6 is definitely the most underwhelming.

I've actually never played online with it. Honestly most games I play, I barely use online, aside from ones like GTA or the occasional Forza race when I can find friends to play with. I guess its mostly because I grew up playing PS2 alone rather than online, though thats weird to say because I'm only 18 and most of my peers prefer to play online.

All of my friends play online so I tend to spend more time online than on single player.
